Lauryn & Prince AW

It was a dreary day, with that light rain, the type that just makes your hair frizzy but not wet.  I almost rescheduled our photoshoot after seeing the forecast for rain, but Iโ€™m glad we went ahead as once we started taking photos it soon cleared up and gave us soft lighting to compliment a colourful backdrop.

It was great to reunite with Lauryn and her gorgeous Bay Thoroughbred Gelding Prince for a second photoshoot.  Our previous summer session captured their newly formed friendship in the bright morning sun.  This time, we embraced the moody skies teamed with autumns fiery colour palette.

We began in the barn entrance with a gorgeous Autumnal wreath created especially for Prince by my dear friend and talented florist Claire of Gipsy Fleur.  Claire had designed my Wedding flowers, so I had no doubt that this wreath was going to look amazing!  It complimented Princeโ€™s colouring beautifully, standing out against his dark bay winter coat.

As we ventured down the country lane, the sky brightened slightly so even among the tree lined bridleway Prince stood out against the colourful backdrop of turning leaves.  Lauryn climbed on for some bareback ridden shots with Prince and guided him with practiced ease up and down the track.  You can clearly see the joy of their partnership, the harmony between rider and horse against the backdrop of natureโ€™s vibrant transformation.

We captured some more photos out on the country road where the wind had begun to pick up, offering a more majestical feel as Lauryn and Princeโ€™s hair danced in the gusts.  A field just off the track offered more colour and made for some striking images where Lauryn and Prince really stood out against the backdrop.

Our final location was Princeโ€™s cozy stable, illuminated by the soft light reaching the doorway, creating some elegant black background shots, which are always my favourite to do, to really capture the bond and connection between horse and owner.

This photoshoot wasn't just about capturing stunning Autumnal images; it was about celebrating the unique bond between Lauryn and Prince, and how it has grown since their summer session. It was about witnessing their silent communication, their shared love for adventure, and their appreciation for the changing seasons. And with each click of the camera, I knew these photographs would forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Special thanks to Gipsy Fleur for creating the beautiful autumn wreath that added a touch of magic to our photoshoot!
